14 stores that melt

In partnership with

morninโ€™ merry makers ๐Ÿซ€๐Ÿซ๐Ÿชฝ๐Ÿ’…๐ŸŽŸ๏ธ

i come from a long line of chocoholics.

in fact, my first academic achievement wasn't spelling or math โ€” it was winning a science fair prize for a project all about chocolate. (yes, i was that kid who turned her sweet tooth into extra credit ๐Ÿ˜‹).

one thing i still remember: cacao โ‰  cocoa

so with valentine's day around the corner & my lifelong chocolate obsession in full swing, i couldn't resist diving into the deliciously fascinating world of chocolate retail.

why, you ask?

in a world where we can buy pretty much anything on amazon & most of us already have too much stuff, chocolate remains this perfect little luxury that keeps drawing us back to stores for special moments.

โ†’ you can't match the experience of watching a chocolatier hand-paint bonbons

โ†’ you canโ€™t catch the intoxicating aroma of fresh-roasted cacao through tiktok

โ†’ you canโ€™t taste that life-changing free sample through your phone screen

so with that letโ€™s get into todayโ€™s choc shop therapyโ€ฆ

todayโ€™s merry menu:

chocolate retail is the perfect storm of everything that makes brick & mortar magic:

๐ŸŽจ the thrill of watching artisans hand-paint bonbons
๐Ÿฅ‚ the anticipation of the occasion being celebrated
๐Ÿซ the warm welcome of freshly made chocolates
๐Ÿ’Ž the luxury of discovering single-origin bars
๐Ÿ˜‹ the joy of stumbling upon a local fave treat

these little moments of everyday luxury canโ€™t happen on a screen & that's what makes em even sweeter if you ask me.

for the real chocolate connoisseurs, these one-location wonders didnโ€™t make my list yet, but hereโ€™s hoping they expand (preferably to atx):

if i missed your fave, spill in the replies! where should i get my v-day chocolates?

quick closing psa from a chocoholic:

whether you're shopping for someone special or treating yourself (both equally valid choices!), skip the drugstore chocolate aisle this year & support your local chocolate artist instead. your taste buds will thank you! ๐Ÿซ๐Ÿ’

be merry,

MacK
